Advancing Environmental Literacy through School Partnerships

The 2015 California Blueprint for Environmental Literacy outlined an ambitious goal to increase access to environmental education for all California students. ChangeScale’s March convening will provide an update on the implementation of the Blueprint, and will serve as a venue for diverse organizations to work collaboratively toward the goal of equitably increasing high-quality environmental education to communities throughout the Bay Area. This event will feature case studies of systemic partnerships in the region that are working together at various scales (county, district, neighborhood) to expand access to environmental learning opportunities. We will provide collaborative working time for school districts, environmental education providers, and environmental education supporters to address capacity barriers and develop collective strategies for equitably increasing access to environmental education in their community.

We encourage you to attend with partner organizations and representatives from school districts that you are currently working with, or with those you would like to work with in the future. Thanks to support of the Environmental Education Funders Collaborative, we have a limited number of scholarships available for representatives from public school districts in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Area to attend this session for free. This event will be from 10 am to 2:30 pm, followed by a networking reception. Morning snacks, lunch, and refreshments will be served.
